The short version

Period Private does not collect, transmit, share, sell, or store your data on any server. Everything you enter into the app stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising identifier, and no third-party SDK that transmits data.

What information the app handles

The following information is created and stored only on your iPhone:

Period days and flow levels you log
Symptoms, moods, notes, basal body temperature, and sexual activity entries you log
Health events you record (pregnancy tests, provider visits, abortion care, miscarriage, contraception changes)
Your settings — cycle length defaults, notification preferences, lock preferences
Your PIN, if you set one, stored as a salted SHA-256 hash. The raw PIN is never stored.

This data is written to a sandboxed database in the app's container and is automatically encrypted by iOS Data Protection while your device is locked.

What we do not do

We do not have a server. There is no backend that receives your data.
We do not use iCloud sync, CloudKit, Firebase, Supabase, or any cloud database.
We do not include analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
We do not include advertising SDKs (no AdMob, Meta Audience Network, AppLovin).
We do not use crash reporting SDKs that transmit data.
We do not use AI services. Your data is never sent to any model provider.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, IP address, advertising identifier, or location.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Apple Privacy Manifest

The app ships with a PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file that declares NSPrivacyTracking: false, an empty NSPrivacyTrackingDomains array, and an empty NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypes array. You can verify this in any decompiler or by inspecting the app bundle.

Permissions

The only permission the app may request is Face ID / Touch ID, used solely to unlock the app on your device. Biometric data never leaves your iPhone — iOS handles authentication entirely on the Secure Enclave.

If you enable local notifications, they are scheduled by the iOS notification system. They are not push notifications and do not involve any token being shared with a remote server.

Export and deletion

You can export your complete history as a JSON file at any time using Settings → Your data → Export as JSON. The file is created locally and shared via the standard iOS share sheet — you choose where it goes.

You can delete all your data using Settings → Your data → Reset all data. Because the data only ever existed on your device, deletion is immediate and total.

If you uninstall the app, iOS deletes its sandbox, including all stored entries.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because the app does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes in a way that materially affects how the app handles data, the policy text shipped within the app will be updated and a new version will be posted here with a clearly marked effective date. Because this app is offline-only, any change in data practices would require a new app version that you would knowingly install.
