Tanksmith is a logbook. The data you choose to enter — tank names, parameter readings, livestock entries, equipment, photos, test kit and salt batch records — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device through Tanksmith.
None. We do not collect any personal information, device identifiers, usage data, crash reports, IP addresses, or analytics. Tanksmith makes no network requests at all.
Tanksmith requests one iOS permission, and only at the moment you choose to use the relevant feature:
You can revoke this permission at any time from iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Tanksmith. Existing photos already saved into Tanksmith's database are unaffected.
Tanksmith does not embed any third-party SDKs. There are no ad networks, no analytics providers, no crash reporters, no A/B testing frameworks, and no social-media integrations. The app is built entirely on Apple's first-party frameworks.
Your purchase of Tanksmith is processed by Apple under Apple's own Privacy Policy. Tanksmith does not receive any personally identifying information from this transaction. Apple may share aggregated, anonymized App Store statistics with us (such as download and crash counts) — this is standard for every app on the App Store and is governed by Apple, not Tanksmith.
If you back up your iPhone or iPad to iCloud or to a Mac, Tanksmith's data is included in that backup as part of your standard device backup, encrypted and managed by Apple. Tanksmith itself does not interact with iCloud or any cloud service.
Tanksmith is not directed at children. Because Tanksmith does not collect any data from anyone, it cannot and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
All data is kept on your device for as long as you keep Tanksmith installed. Deleting the app removes all of your Tanksmith data from your device. Because nothing leaves your device, there is nothing for us to delete on a server — there are no servers.
Tanksmith works the same way for everyone, in every country. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no cross-border data transfer to disclose under GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations.
If this policy changes (for example, because Tanksmith adds an opt-in feature that involves the network), the updated policy will be posted at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will be announced inside the app.
