None. DishCheck does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. The app does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not access your contacts or location.
DishCheck uses the camera and the photo library only to read the menu in front of you:
DishCheck uses Apple's on-device machine learning and translation frameworks (Vision, Foundation Models, and Apple Translate) to recognize menu text and interpret ingredients. All of these run locally on your device. Menu content is not sent to Apple's servers, to DishCheck's developer, or to any third party.
The first time you select a new target language, iOS may prompt you to download a language pack from Apple. That download is a one-time, system-level operation handled by iOS itself; DishCheck does not receive your menu text during it.
The following information is stored locally on your device only, using Apple's SwiftData framework, and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
This data is removed when you delete the app, or when you tap Reset all data in Settings.
The app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social services. There are no third-party SDKs in the app.
The app functions fully offline once installed. It does not make network requests in normal use. The only network activity is system-level: Apple's StoreKit handles purchase and restore requests, and iOS may download translation language packs the first time you pick a new language. Neither activity sends menu content or personal data to DishCheck.
The app offers a one-time In-App Purchase ("DishCheck Full Unlock") for $9.99 USD. Payments are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not see, receive, or store any payment information, including card numbers, billing addresses, or Apple ID details. Refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. Because no data is collected from any user, no data is collected from children either. The app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of not collecting any personal information.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any data, because we do not collect any data.
Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing on our servers for you to request, correct, or delete. You can delete all data stored locally on your device at any time by deleting the app or using Reset all data in Settings.
DishCheck is a planning aid, not medical advice. The app's allergen and dietary analysis is based on best-effort ingredient inference and may not catch every conflict. Always confirm ingredients with restaurant staff before ordering if you have a serious food allergy or medical dietary restriction.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
