Getting started
How do I start a move-in walkthrough?
Open Roomprint, tap the + in the top right to add a property, then tap that property and choose Start Move-In. Pick the property type (Studio, 1-Bed, etc.) and Roomprint pre-fills a list of rooms and the usual inspection items. Walk through, tap each item, photograph it, and set its condition.
How do I export a PDF to send to my landlord?
Inside any report, scroll to the bottom and tap Export PDF. Roomprint generates the document on-device and opens the iOS share sheet — pick Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, or any other app.
What does "compare mode" do?
When you start a Move-Out report on a property that already has a Move-In report, Roomprint can clone the move-in's room and item structure and tag each item with its prior condition and photo. You'll see "At move-in" badges and thumbnails next to each item so you only photograph what's actually changed. The exported PDF prints both conditions side by side.
Privacy & backup
Does Roomprint work offline?
Yes — entirely. The app makes no network requests. You can use it on a plane, in a basement apartment with no signal, or with airplane mode on.
Is my data sold or analysed?
No. There is no analytics SDK in the app, no ad networks, no third-party tracking. See the privacy policy for the longer answer.
How do I back up my reports?
Open Settings from the property list and tap Export full archive. Roomprint bundles every property, report, photo, video, signature and document into a single .roomprint file and hands it to the share sheet. Pick Save to Files → iCloud Drive for an automatic cloud backup, or AirDrop it to another device, or email it to yourself.
I lost my phone. Can I recover my reports?
Only if you exported an archive earlier. Roomprint stores everything locally and has no central account system, so there's no "log in to recover" — recovery depends on whichever destination you chose for your last archive export (iCloud Drive, Files, a saved email, etc.). We strongly recommend exporting an archive after each big walkthrough.
How do I restore from an archive?
Archive import is on the roadmap for the next release. For now, the .roomprint file is a plain zip — anyone with macOS or Files can rename the extension to .zip, open it, and read the manifest.json plus the photo, video, and document folders inside.
Can I sync between iPhone and iPad?
Not automatically in v1.0. You can move a working set between devices using the archive export. Optional iCloud sync is on the roadmap.
Photos & signatures
Why is the date stamped on the photo?
The timestamp burned into each photo (and the SHA-256 fingerprint printed in the PDF) is the app's main reason to exist: a photo without a date is useless in a deposit dispute. The stamp survives screenshots, forwarding, and PDF rendering.
Can I turn off the location stamp?
Yes — deny location access when iOS asks, or revoke it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Roomprint. Photos will still be date-stamped but won't include coordinates.
The signature pad isn't accepting my signature.
The Save button enables once you've drawn at least one stroke and typed a printed name. If you tap Clear, you'll need to draw again before Save lights up.
Something else
I think I found a bug.
Please email support@roomprint.app with a short description and your iOS version. Screenshots are helpful but optional.
I want to suggest a feature.
